Chief Executive Officer, clickair
Alex Cruz was Accenture's partner leading Europe's aviation practice where he participated in the creation and start-up of clickair, Europe's fastest growing airline.
In September 2006, he became CEO of the airline – at clickair, he has managed an incredible growth cycle, including a successful transition from 0 to 18 A320s, 700 employees, and 50 domestic and Europe-wide international routes in 9 months.Cruzhas more than 16 years of experience in the airline industry. He has had different responsibilities with American Airlines in Dallas, and later, with travel distribution and technology group, Sabre, in London.
As a consultant, he has led projects with many airlines around the world, from British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Lufthansa and Cathay Pacific, to jetBlueand Delta Air Lines, as well as for other travel companies like lastminute.com, BAA, Swissportor Amadeus.Alex, 41, is originally from Bilbao, Spain.
He graduated as an industrial engineer from Central Michigan University. Later, he obtained a Masters of Science degree from The Ohio State University, specializing in e-business applications for small/medium size enterprises (1990). He also completed business administration and management courses at the Edwin Cox School of Business in Dallas.
He is married and has 3 children.
